A diferencia de los sellos org\u00e1nicos \u2014como epoxis o juntas de pol\u00edmero\u2014, el GTMS no se degrada con el tiempo, no permite la permeaci\u00f3n de gases y mantiene sus propiedades a trav\u00e9s de ciclos t\u00e9rmicos severos y exposici\u00f3n a la radiaci\u00f3n.<br><br>La clave para una junta GTMS confiable es <strong>expansi\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica a juego<\/strong>: las aleaciones de vidrio y metal (generalmente Kovar, Alloy 42 o acero inoxidable) deben expandirse y contraerse a ritmos compatibles.
